Anyone who has ever been to a wedding knows that it’s an incredible celebration of love, a day where you ride a wave of emotions alongside everyone who gives your life meaning. It’s one of the rare occasions where your friends and family have a podium to express just how important you are to them and how grateful they are to have you in their lives.

Inevitably the father of the bride will share some cherished memories of ‘daddy’s little girl’ which will leave everyone saying ‘ahhhhh’ while the best man will touch on some core memories of his friendship with the groom (often leaving him looking a little sheepish). And in between you’ll have heartfelt conversations with grandparents, laugh excessively with your best mates and reminisce with old school friends about when you all used to run around together inevitably getting up to mischief.

This rollercoaster of emotions will be an incredible adventure but one that can be a blur which is why I am there, to experience it all by your side and capture the essence of these emotions for a time when it will be harder to recall everything that happened.

FINDING THE RIGHT STORY TELLER MEANS EVERYTHING!

When you’re flicking through countless Instagram accounts and websites searching for the right photographer, it can be easy to find aspects of each one’s work that you like or even love. What is harder to tell is whether they are the right fit for you.

Have you ever seen a pair of jeans and thought ‘wow, they’re amazing’, only to get them home, try them on and find that while they looked cool in the shop, they just don’t quite suit with you? This is what it can be like searching for the right photographer.

I will never ask for a deposit or a commitment before we have had a meeting (preferably face to face) because there needs to be some level of connection between us both in order to make this a successful collaboration.

You have to feel comfortable enough around me to not only be yourselves but to ask for whatever you want when the day comes. It might sound strange but because this is probably the first time you’ve hired a photographer to be with you all day, this can be harder than you might think.

A WEDDING DAY IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A CEREMONY AND FIRST DANCE! 

From the moment you start getting ready with your bridesmaids until the lights go down and you first take to the dancefloor, your day is going to be a whirlwind of emotions. You’ll be nervous while you’re getting ready, cry when you read your vows, share stolen moments with your best friend and be grateful when you find a quiet corner to sit in with your grandma and you won’t want to forget a single moment!

Being there for the whole day is the best way for me to tell the intimate nature of your day so that you can relive it in the years to come. I only take on 25 weddings a year so please get in touch as soon as possible to check whether I am available and receive a personalised quote.

Before you could ever possibly decide on who you want to tell the story of one of the most important days of your lives, you’ll need to feel comfortable with them. The best way to do this is if we meet (in person or via Zoom) and see if we’re a good fit.

SECURE YOUR DATE

I only do 25 weddings a year so hopefully I’m free. If I am then that’s great, all I need from you is a deposit and I’m all yours.

THE COUNT DOWN IS ON

Planning your big day can be a little daunting or even overwhelming at times so if there is anything I can do to make that easier for you then please don’t hesitate to ask, I’m always here for you. In the week leading up to the wedding we’ll have one final last call to run through the schedule and any special requests that you might have.

YOUR WEDDING DAY

The day has finally arrived, you’re getting married! All of the planning is now done and you can sit back, relax and have the best day of your lives knowing that I’ll be there every step of the way to capture these memories for years to come.

YOUR GALLERY IS READY

The day after you’ll receive some teasers to share your beautiful day with the world and 6-8 weeks later I will send you your fully edited gallery of over 500 photos. Then it’s time to curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea or glass of wine, crack open the laptop and relive your day over and over again.

  • In short, as much of it as you want. For some that means from the bridal prep to the first dance and for others it means the ceremony to the reception, that’s totally up to you. I understand that while weddings have a schedule, timings don’t always go to plan but don’t worry, I know how important this day is to you so I won’t be there watching the clock.

  • I live in a quaint little village in the East Midlands called Upper Boddington, Northamptonshire.

  • Anywhere!

    Travel within 2 hours of Upper Boddington is included.

    For weddings further afield I ask for the cost of the petrol and an additional £85 for accommodation (as you might imagine, when the wedding is further away, I want to start the day as close as possible in order to avoid any potential travel complications like traffic).

  • Absolutely.

    Engagement shoots are a great way for us to get to know each other and to get a feel for how I work. In the East Midlands, an engagement shoot costs £400.

FAQs

  • I hope to have your photographs edited and delivered within 6-8 weeks of your wedding.

    During peak season this might take longer but that is always something that I would keep you informed about.

  • The day after the wedding I will send you 10 teasers for you to share immediately via WhatsApp.

    Once I have edited your +500 high resolution photographs via an online gallery for you to view and download at your leisure.

  • As is standard in the industry, I retain the copyright of your images while you own the usage rights which means that you can print and share them amongst friends and family (I always really appreciate if you credit me @edomahoneyweddings) but you can’t sell them for profit or use them commercially.

  • Yes.

    I always recommend printing your photographs and displaying them in a luxury album so that you have something beautifully tangible to flick through on the sofa on quiet evenings.

    Your wedding photos can help you relive all of the incredibly intimate memories you made and having an album can help you do that.
